Reasons Why If There Was One Thing You Should Be Willing To Bet On, It Should Be Yourself

The way today’s society is set up we all are victim to critique, ridicule, and comparison. I believe a lot of young adults care and others could care less. There is no wrong how you may approach feedback from your public content but I think we can all relate back to a time in your life where you didn’t have enough confidence in your ability and short changed yourself due to the feedback and critique you would receive from others. While this is such a shame, it is apart of our lives being a conscious human being. At some point most people overcome this or they let it run their lives allowing them to blossom or shrink. I can remember the exact moment when I knew I would not let those outside variables run me or my life. My uncle who I highly respected and was a great voice growing up so when he talked I listened and certain sayings from people you just remember forever and this was one of them. He was visiting for Virginia and my family likes to reminiscence on times and they brought how my uncle was as a young adult and how he thought he was too cool and no one could tell him anything. I laughed at this when they said it because as kids we have no clue but as you grow older things becomes crystal clear. My uncle stood up and in his deep tone of voice looked at me and my other cousins and said “If you don’t think you’re the shit, no one else will” and repeated it to us. This simple words stuck with me through my football career, college, and today. It’s something about being all in on yourself first that makes the noise go away. Once you are locked in with yourself nothing else begins to matter except self improvements which the good critiques come from people that you place value in and will do more good than harm. The world needs more people tapped in with themselves rather than how they are viewed on socials we miss out on all the great ideas that could be brought to life without it. Remember no one will think you’re the shit unless you believe it first. Bet on Yourself.
